“I would like to recommend this place to anyone who want to experience something more than just another ordinary hotel! You will find a really cool attraction as well as a great nights sleep in one of the former prison cells. The room was clean and quiet. The hotel is beautifully restored and has an amazing vibe! Breakfast was average, but extra pluss though for friendly and helpful staff in the kitchen. There is also a nice little museum which contributes to the experience.”

“Me and my three girls enjoyed us for one night at this charming hotell. It was a joy to notice that even cottom swabs and pads were there at the bathroom. Peacefull a clean feeling all together.”

“My daughter really enjoyed her stay with you. She told me everything was wonderful and she's glad she chose to stay at Hotel 1861. The unique character and history of the hotel was a big plus but, also, the hotel was very clean, the twin single room was comfy, breakfast was fresh and typically Swedish, the staff was wonderful, and the location was extremely convenient to get around the city and to the airport. She loved everything about her stay and looks forward to staying again. I must say that the hotel (and Umea) both seem so nice, I also want to visit the next time I'm in Sweden.”
